A Letter To The Suicidal

You are worth it. You are good enough. You are unique. You are special. You have been created for a purpose. You have been predestined and chosen before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:3-6). Within you, is potential that longs to be released. A potential that longs to be used for the glory of God.

The trial that you are going through is for your good (Romans 8:28-30). It is for your development and not your death. This may be hard to believe but it is the truth. What you are going through, someone else has gone through. Someone else has conquered that very same thing. They have won the victory over it and are still alive today.

A Letter To The Suicidal

These afflictions will not last forever. They are only for a season. They are only for a time. They are but for a moment. Think of all the trials that you have went through before and how you overcame. You overcame them and therefore, you can overcome this. You can get through this. You already have the victory.

16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. 2 Corinthians 4:16-17 (NKJV)

The thought that everything will get better when you die, is a lie. It is a lie from the enemy. It will only get worse. Escaping your reality does not bring joy. It does not bring peace but rather, it brings hurt and sadness to the ones you love. It creates a hole in their heart. It creates a void.

There are many things in the world today that can only change or get better when the potential within you is used. This potential can only be used if you are alive. You have a purpose to fulfill. You have a God-given call upon your life. Jesus came to give you life and life more abundantly. You were created to live and not die. You were created to live and declare the works of the Lord (Psalm 118:17).

Do not take your life. Do not succumb to your depression or trial. Do not isolate yourself. Do not think that you are all alone because you are not. Find someone to talk to. Find someone who can give you guidance on how to overcome this. Seek godly counsel.

Suicide is not the answer for your joy and peace. Your joy and peace is found in Jesus Christ. He is the answer to every problem. He is the One who can set you free from every depression, bondage and trial. Look to Him today.

17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:17-18 (NKJV)
