No Man Knows The Day Or The Hour

Are we ready for the return of Jesus Christ? Are we prepared for the day when He will split the sky and the trumpets will sound? Ask yourself, "Am I ready?". The day will come when Jesus will return. He said "behold I come quickly" ( Revelations 22:7). Before that day comes, we should prepare ourselves for His return.

“Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.
“And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’ Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.
11 “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ 12 But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’
13 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming." Matthew 25:1-13 (NKJV)

In the verses above, it talks about the ten virgins where five were foolish and five were wise. As the wise virgins went out to meet the bridegroom, they took extra oil along with their lamps while the foolish ones didn't. The wise virgins had their oil, their intimacy with Christ. They were prepared by the time that they spent with God. Their relationship with Him was their first priority. As their intimacy grew with God, they were able to fuel their lamps, they were able to let their light shine before men (Matthew 5:14-16). As they spent time with God, wherever they went, people saw Christ in and through them.

Does our relationship with God reflect that of the five wise virgins? Knowing Christ and the power of His resurrection is the ultimate. Do we have oil in our vessels? Is our light shining before men?

The foolish virgins were the opposite of the wise ones. They had their lamps, their good works were being seen before men but in the secret, they had no oil, they had no intimacy with Christ. They were showing forth their light without any desire or relationship. Their relationship was not going anywhere. We don't want to live in a place where we are stagnant, where we are not moving in our spiritual lives.

The bridegroom came at an unexpected time. He came at midnight. At midnight, most people are sleeping and one would not expect a big event to happen at that time on a normal day. He came at a time when people wouldn't think he would come. It was a surprise to many as the foolish virgins rushed to buy oil. The same way that we have to be prepared for a hurricane or an earthquake, we should also be prepared for the coming of Jesus Christ.

When the foolish virgins returned, they tried to enter into the wedding but the bridegroom said to them "I do not know you". It is a hard thing to hear those words. Jesus said that those who enter the kingdom are those who do the will of the Father (Matthew 7:21-23).

We should watch and prepare ourselves because we do not know the time or the hour when Jesus will return. When the marriage of the Lamb comes, the bride will make herself ready (Revelations 19:7-9). Let us prepare for His return.

To All The Singles

It is Valentines Day today, the day that is publicized all around the world as the day of love. It is the day when people will wear red, where restaurants will be filled with couples and where stores will display the colors red and white in their show windows.

As a single person, you may feel a bit left out. Left out not only on this day but other days where you see many couples wherever you go. Singleness is a season that should not be taken for granted. It is the season where you are developed and shaped into the character of Christ and into the person that God would have you to be. It is the season where you can do many things for God without added responsibilities.

Being in a relationship does not complete you. We are complete in Christ (Colossians 2:10). Do not think about what is happening around you but set your mind on things above and make God your first priority. Trust God, lean not on your own understanding and in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). God has a plan for your life and He knows what is best. He sees the end from the beginning, just wait on Him.

                                                                 Wait On Me

Is he the one for me
Is she the one for me
You may ask
Always wondering who it'll be

But God says to wait
Wait on Me
I will guide you
In this area of your life

I know the plans
That I have for you
It is all in My hands
Give it to me all your cares

I care for you
When it is time
You will know
I will tell you

Look not to the things
Of the world
Set your gaze on Me
 Focus on Me

                                                                        I will show you
                                                                        Who is for you
                                                                        Don't be anxious
                                                                        Don't rush into it

                                                                       Wait on Me

Knowing The Bridegroom

Before the bride walks down the aisle, before she puts on that white dress, she goes through a process of knowing the bridegroom. The bride knows who the bridegroom is, what he likes and what are his desires. The relationship between them is one where both of them is revealed.

Then the disciples of John came to Him, saying, “Why do we and the Pharisees fast often but Your disciples do not fast?” And Jesus said to them, “Can the friends of the bridegroom mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them and then they will fast. Matthew 9:14-15 (NKJV)

In Matthew 9, the disciples of John the Baptist asks Jesus, why do they fast and why doesn't His disciples fast. Jesus asked them how can the friends of the bridegroom mourn if the bridegroom is still there, how can they miss Him if He is still there?

In order for us to miss and mourn for the bridegroom, we have to know Him first. We can not miss someone if we don't know them. We can't mourn for the bridegroom if we don't know Him. It is impossible for us to say that we miss someone when we don't know who they are and what they are like. We have to know Christ.

It should be our desire to come to a place where we know Christ for ourselves and not what other people say about Him. It is all about having a relationship with the One whose eyes are like flames of fire. Our goal should be to know Him even as He knows us.
One thing I have desired of the Lord that will I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in His temple. Psalms 27:4 (NKJV)

The ultimate desire in our hearts should be to draw closer to Christ, to know Him and the power of His resurrection. When we have this desire, we will continually seek to know every aspect of the character of Jesus Christ. We would have a never ending longing to know Him.

Do you want to know Him more? Do you want to know the One that sits upon the throne? Is it your desire? Ask God to give you the desire to know Him more and to give you wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of His Son. Ask God to help you to focus on Him and to set your mind on things above rather than things on the earth. Ask Him for understanding as you would read His Word.

Let knowing Christ be your goal and your vision!!
