I Am Afraid

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)

Alot of times we are afraid of the unknown, we are afraid to step out, we are afraid to come out of hiding. God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind. So many times we hear and repeat this scripture but do we truly know what it means? Do we believe it when we have to come out of our comfort zone, when we have to speak in public, when we have to do something that seems like the impossible for us.

God has called us to do many things and I believe if He has called us, He has already equipped us. God has given us talents and He has chosen us because He saw the potential and He knows what we can do. If God believes in us, why then don't we believe in ourselves? Why then don't we believe in the ability that God has given? Why then don't we believe in our potential?

Now is the time to arise. It will take time to step out without fear but it is a process. It is a process of recognising that you can't do it on your own, you can only do it with God. We never get to the place where we don't need God to help us through that song or to help us through that speech. We will always need Him but we will always need to step out in faith.

Step out in faith today and do what God has called you to do. Now is the time to spread those wings and fly out of those comfort zones.

The Colour Blue

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27 (NKJV)

When I think of the colour blue, I think of peace. I think of serenity and of being calm. So many times we go through our day with burdens upon our shoulders. So many times we go through our day with a sense of anxiety and worry where we feel like we are in a rush and we have to get everything done by a particular time.

The Colour Blue

God has given us His peace. The peace that passes all understanding. We don't have to be anxious about what will happen next. We don't have to be anxious about the steps we should take. Why worry when we have a Father who sees the end from the beginning. Jesus has given us peace. He has given us the opportunity to live a life of peace, a life of being calm about the situation, a life more abundantly.

When you start to get anxious, when you start to worry, look up to the sky and see the colour blue and remember that Jesus has given you peace. Jesus is taking care of the situation. He has it all sorted out.

Hide Me

Keep me as the apple of Your eye; hide me under the shadow of Your wings. Psalm 17:8 (NKJV)

Hide me under the shadow of Your wings. Keep me from harm and from the hand of the enemy.
God has us under the shadow of His wings. He is keeping us in our situations and in our trials. Many of us are going through trials and sometimes we ask ourselves, 'is God here with me?', why am I going through this?' God is always with us. We are the apple of His eye, we are His desire. We don't have to worry about how the situation would turn out or how we will survive because we have the God of the universe on our side. God is for us and if He is for us then who can be against us?

He is protecting us from harm. He goes before us and He makes every crooked path, straight and every rough path, smooth. God is with us as He was with the people of Israel. He is protecting us as a father protects his child. He is providing for us as a mother provides for her children ~ Tweet This.

Hide me now under your wings, cover me within your mighty hand. When the oceans rise and thunders roar, I will soar with you above the storm. Father You are King over the flood. I will be still and know You are God. - Hillsong United

He Will Keep You

You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Isaiah 26:3 (NKJV)

God will keep you in perfect peace. He will keep you in those stormy situations and bring stillness and peace. He brings peace to those whose minds are stayed on Him. When we fix our eyes on God, every worry subsides. Everything that we thought was an issue or a problem becomes no more because we recognize that our Heavenly Father will take care of us. If He can feed the birds, surely He can feed us.

When our minds are stayed on God, we trust Him. Our minds become anxious and begin to over think when we think that God really isn't doing the job. We begin to have unbelief and we begin to doubt. Trusting God is letting go of everything and casting your cares on Him. It is realizing that you really can't do anything about the situation and the only person who can is God.

Trusting without borders is what we are called to do. We can't say that we fully trust if we worry and become anxious, in this we are actually trusting God with borders. We want to be able to trust God without any borders, without any hindrances, without any doubts. Our trust should span the length of the sea and beyond.

God will keep you in your situation. He kept me in mine and surely He will keep you also. Don't worry, don't get anxious, just trust God and trust that He has a plan for you that is for your good.

You Will Not Be Put To Shame

Many of us have been waiting on the words of God to come to pass. We have been waiting to see those promises fulfilled. We have been waiting to see that breakthrough. We have been waiting not patiently but waiting.

Waiting teaches us to trust God and to trust His plan for our lives. In these times, we can't lose hope and we can't lose faith in who God is and what He has spoken over our lives. What God has spoken will not return unto Him void.

... for they shall not be ashamed that wait for Me. Isaiah 49:23 (NKJV)

We will not be put to shame because we wait. We will not be embarrassed because we waited on God. Those who wait on Him are never put to shame because God is faithful to His word and He is faithful to the promises that He made concerning us.

What we are waiting for, will come. We just have to tarry, we just have to wait. Waiting is not a promise of having it easy but it is a promise that when we wait, good things will happen. Waiting is a part of our internal transformation from glory to glory to the image of Christ.

We will not be put to shame. Don't lose hope, don't lose faith because the promise is coming!!

You Are Welcome Here

You are welcome here
Holy Spirit You are welcome into my heart
Into my life
Into the deepest parts of me
All You desire is to find a resting place
Is to find a home
I will be that home
I will be that resting place

You are welcome here
You are welcome into my secrets
My thoughts, my inner being
This is the place where You belong
Where You and I connect
Where we become one
Just like the Father and the Son

You are welcome here
Fill this place with Your presence
Fill this place with the fragrance of You
You are welcome here
Here is where You should be
Here is where You belong

You are welcome here
To show me my faults
To mould me into who You have called me to be
To show me Your glory
To show me You
You are welcome here

Five Minute Friday ~ Give

Give, give it all, surrender it all. I surrender all to Jesus. I surrender my life, my thoughts, my dreams. I surrender me. Have we fully surrendered everything to God? I know we sing those songs and we say those things but are we truly giving Him our all?

God wants all. He wants it all today. He wants us to give Him our desires, our pain, our thoughts and our entire beings. He wants us for Himself. I don't think that's wrong since He's the One who created us.

Giving God all, is trusting Him. Trusting that He is more than able to solve the situation that we are in, trusting that He is more than able to provide for all of our needs and trusting that He will give us the desires of our hearts.

Give it all to Him, the One whose burden is light and whose yoke is easy. Give it all to Him, release every care and every worry. God has not created us to carry baggage and burdens. He created us so that we can be free from all oppression and be able to live this life and to live it more abundantly.

What is it today that you haven't given Him? What is it that you are holding onto? What is it that can make you free today if you would just give it to Him.

Give it all to Him.

Five Minute Friday ~ Notice

Sometimes we do so many things and we think that no one notices us, that no one really appreciates what we do and how we do it. Sometimes we think we are doing it for nothing because it all goes unnoticed.

But what we do is not going unnoticed, it is not being taken for granted. God notices us. God sees our efforts. God sees our hardwork. He sees the effort that we put into it. Even though we think that no one appreciates us, God does.

And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,  knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. Colossians 3:23-24 (NKJV)

God appreciates us and He appreciates our serivce unto Him. That's what it is! It is service unto Him and not unto man. When we recognise that what we do is for God, we no longer need to search for appreciation from man. Everything should be done for His glory and for His name.

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. Galatians 6:9-10 (NKJV)

Don't grow weary in well doing. Don't get tired of what you are doing. Don't say that it is not worth it because it is worth it to God. He sees it as important and He sees it as a demonstration of the love that we have for Him.

Don't give up because you think no one is noticing you.

God notices you.

Five Minute Friday ~ Still

What love is this? What love indescribible and uncontainable? What love is this that even though we were sinners, You still loved us. You still chose us inspite of our imperfections, in spite of our sin. You still chose us.

You chose to love us and to send Your only begotten Son to die on the cross for us so that we could have everlasting life, so that we could have an opportunity to know this love and to encounter You.

Still You thought of us and considered us. Still You listened to our prayer, ever inclining Your ears unto us. Still You sit on the throne, ever making intercession for us. Still You love us.

Yet still we may fall or stumble but You are still there for us, You are still faithful to forgive us of all our sins, You still are there to heal and make us new again.

You are still here, You are still with us, You are still God.
